Eleven members of the team at specialist coach and bus insurance brokers McCarron Coates have raised £2,900 for charity by completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.
The team, which consisted of directors, as well as broking and administration staff, completed the peaks of Pen-y-Ghent (694m), Whernside (736m) and Ingleborough (723m) inside the targeted 12 hours in support of local charity Children’s Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF).
CHSF assists those living with congenital heart disease by funding Leeds Congenital Heart Unit with life-saving medical equipment, parent accommodation for families and vital ward resources. The charity helps 17,000 babies, children and adults who have the condition each year.
McCarron Coates Director Paul Coates says: “We undertake various charity challenges, both as individuals and as a business, during the course of a year and this one was, quite literally, close to our hearts. We are delighted to have raised such a good sum for the charity and know that it will make a difference, in some way or other.”
