Autoelectro has leveraged three decades’ experience and technical knowledge to diagnose and rectify an alternator pulley issue on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (1999-2006).
The issue centres on failure caused by a stretched/worn belt. Over a prolonged period, the drive belt places an incorrect load is applied to the alternator pulley set-up, resulting in excess vibration and possible failure.
If the belt exceeds 2,100mm in length, it must be replaced. Autoelectro recommends connection of an additional guide pulley between the power steering pulley and the crankshaft pulley.
