There is a new-look Transport Select Committee, with appointments made yesterday (12 September) by the House of Common.

The 10 MPs join Lilian Greenwood MP (Labour, Nottingham South) , who was elected Chair of the Committee in July.

Lilian Greenwood: Chair

The selection partly reflects the political spread of MPs in the House, and other deals, resulting in the appearance of the DUP’s Paul Girvan (South Antrim). The SNP is represented by Ronnie Cowan (Inverclyde).

The Conservatives take four positions: Steve Double (St Austen and Newquay), Huw Merriman (Bexhill and Battle), Iain Stewart (Milton Keynes South) and Martin Vickers (Cleethorpes).

Labour has four positions – two of which are Great Manchester MPs Graham Stringer (Blackley and Broughton) and Laura Smith (Manchester Metropolitan).

The two others are: Luke Pollard (Plymouth, Sutton and Devonport) and Daniel Zeichner (Cambridge).
