Whether it’s a long-running West End musical or a stunning regional performance, we want to reward the best show for coach groups in 2018’s glamorous British Coach Tourism Awards – and to do that, we need your help
The entry deadline for the British Coach Tourism Awards (BCTAs) is approaching fast.
You have a little over two months left to prepare a submission that truly showcases your business (or yourself) to our panel of judges, who will meet in December to pore over another crop of outstanding entries.
And the BCTAs are shaping up to be a fantastic event in 2018. Details of next year’s show-stopping entertainment and star presenter are still strictly under wraps, but keep watching this space for the news in the coming months of what the night holds in store.
In the meantime, you may recall in our July issue we announced a new award category: Theatre Production, as voted for by you, our readers.
The BCTAs want to reward THE best show in the UK for coach groups, and to do that, we need to hear from you.
Nominate the best show
Getting involved is simple: All we need is the name of your favourite theatre production.
You can email me (the editor) at jchapman@divcom.co.uk, or visit our website or our Facebook and Twitter pages, and click on the link to tell us.
All we require is the name of the show, and your name, company and address (but don’t worry, we’ll keep those details strictly private).
Whether it’s the one that gets the most bums on your coach seats, the one your customers tell you they enjoyed the most, or just the one you absolutely adored personally, we’ll leave that up to you.
And it doesn’t have to be one of the huge West End musicals, either. If you want to nominate a smaller London play or a regional hit, that’s fine by us. This award truly is the readers’ choice.
The six shows with the most nominations will make it to the list of finalists, which will be announced with the rest of the BCTAs shortlists in the January 2018 issue of GT&T.
And at that stage, we will once again invite you to participate – this time to vote for the winner.
May the best show win.
The must-be-there event
The BCTAs were inaugurated in 2006 as the Coach Tourism Awards, designed to recognise and reward those businesses that make coach tourism the high-quality, high-performing and pleasurable sector it is.
It was said at the time that “all who attended agreed… a new must-be-there event has been written into the coaching calendar,” and 12 hugely successful years of the event have proved that beyond doubt.
The BCTAs has two purposes. The first is to recognise and reward those businesses that make life as easy as possible for coach group organisers – attractions, destinations, hotels, wholesalers and other suppliers that contribute to the UK’s thriving group tourism sector by being as “coach-friendly” as possible.
The second strand is the all-important operator awards. From having a stunning holiday brochure to efficiently running a high-quality fleet, the BCTAs reward coach tour operators that showcase to the rest of the world just how good coach holidays can be.
Oh, there is a third purpose… to get the industry together for an utterly fabulous night of high-quality entertainment and unbeatable networking.
Tickets are already on sale – but first and foremost, nominate that great show, and get your entry in. The judges will be waiting.
