A review of bus services in South Yorkshire has been launched by elected mayor Dan Jarvis, which he says will examine whether privately-owned operators are best-placed to run services.
Mr Jarvis says that services in the area had suffered from a lack of investment and that privatisation had not been successful.
The review also intends to identify where bus patronage has fallen. In Sheffield, all major operators are part of a voluntary partnership, with interavailable CityBus ticketing.
