Oxford Bus Company (OBC), Thames Travel and Stagecoach have announced cross-compatibility with tickets and are capping planned fair increases.
Oxford Bus Company is supporting customers by temporarily accepting Stagecoach tickets on its City2, City3, City3A, City5, City8 and City9 services during the operation of its special timetables.
Stagecoach will also accept OBC tickets on its services 1, 2, 3, 3A and 8 during the same period. The increased ticketing flexibility will enable customers to travel on the next available bus rather than waiting for a specific operator.
Planned fare increases from OBC, Stagecoach and Thames Travel have also been postponed. Fares will remain at their current levels during the coronavirus COVID-19 restrictions.
Key workers will also be assisted where possible if current timetables do not meet their needs.
Oxford Bus Company and Thames Travel Managing Director Phil Southall, and Managing Director of Stagecoach in Oxfordshire Chris Coleman say: “We have reviewed all services and are introducing changes designed to match supply to demand, support key workers and protect the long-term future of the businesses for everyone.”
