Transport for West Midlands has revised its plans for the A34 Sprint bus rapid transit route in Perry Bar. The change has been made to take account of car parking.
A consultation revealed concern among residents about the 233 spaces that would have been lost under the initial proposals. Revisions to road verges and parts of the central reservation mean that only 45 will now be removed.
The A34 route is one of three planned Sprint schemes for Birmingham that have been accelerated for the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Transport for West Midlands promises buses with a “better than Euro 6 engine” or which are zero-emission.
