Andy Rigby has been named Head of Commercial by Warrington’s Own Buses. He will be responsible for driving commercial strategies, building partnerships, and improving the customer experience.

Mr Rigby joined the municipal operator in 2022 as Project Manager, successfully leading its relocation from Wilderspool Causeway to a new depot at Dallam Lane that is central to the electrification of its fleet. He was most recently Head of Facilities.

Speaking about his promotion, Mr Rigby says: “I am excited to work in this new role. My journey within the transportation industry has been immensely fulfilling, and I am excited to leverage my experience to contribute to the company’s continued success.”

His career in coach and bus began at age 16 as a cleaner with Hilton’s Travel of Newton-le-Willows while still at school. Later while studying at university Mr Rigby worked part-time as Operations Assistant with Eavesway Travel and after graduating he was promoted by that business to Operations Manager, overseeing coach operations.

In 2016, he moved to Tyrers Coaches to manage operations at its Farnworth depot with a focus on home-to-school services. From there, he joined the Cheshire municipal.

Speaking about the promotion of Mr Rigby, Warrington’s Own Buses Managing Director Ben Wakerley says: “Andy’s journey from cleaning buses to leading our commercial efforts is truly inspiring. He knows our business inside out, and his practical approach makes him perfect for this role.

“We are confident that Andy will help to drive our business forward and continue delivering top-notch service to our customers. We are lucky to have him onboard, and I am excited to see what we can achieve together.”
