To mark its seventh year, Oxford Bus Group has announced plans to take its Brand the Bus charity competition up a notch with a record £100,000 prize pot in 2025.

Delivered in partnership with Oxford City Football Club and Get Radio in Oxfordshire, the competition allows the winning charity to have its branding featured on a double-decker bus for 12 months and has become a hallmark in the operator’s community engagement efforts.

The Group is also launching the competition at Carousel Buses for the first time, expanding its support for good causes into Buckinghamshire. That prize fund is worth £60,000 and is delivered in partnership with Wycombe Wanderers and Wycombe Sound.

“We care deeply about the communities we serve and believe in giving back where we can,” says Luke Marion, Managing Director of Oxford Bus Group. “We have delivered tremendous impact for several good causes across Oxfordshire via Brand the Bus and we’re proud to now be extending the competition to Carousel Buses.

“Brand the Bus is an excellent way for charities and good causes to raise awareness of what they do. This year we have increased the breadth of the packages available to the winning good causes thanks to community-based partnerships with key partners. We’re looking forward to helping more good causes next year.”

To enter, good causes must submit their entries from January 2025. Public voting will open from the same date. The 10 organisations with the most votes will proceed to a judging panel, which will select the winners based on how effectively they meet the competition’s criteria.

Previous winners have included Oxford Hospitals Charity, SeeSaw, Girl Guiding Oxfordshire, Home-Start Oxford, Blue Skye-Thinking and Restore.
