King Long Europe UK has been placed into administration. Andrew Hosking and Tauseef Rashid of Quantuma were appointed on 19 December. John Pye Auctions has been instructed to search for a buyer for the business.

Former Director Chris Cassar left the dealership in August 2019. Since then its sole Director has been Mark Walsh.

King Long Europe UK had attempted to return the Chinese products to the UK market, but with little success.

The Birmingham-based dealership has been marketing cost-effective models in the 9m, 10m and 12m sectors, which were introduced to the UK as new products in 2019. A number were sold.

Turnover for the year ending 31 December 2018 was c.£1.3m, down from c.£1.7m the previous year. The business’ assets are listed as plant and machinery, two King Long coaches, motor vehicles, stock at a cost of c.£140,000 and servicing and parts contracts.
