London operator Anderson Travel has taken delivery of three Irizar i6S integral coaches, representing conquest business for dealership Irizar UK.
Each of the trio is a 12.9m two-axle model. Their specification includes 53 i6 Plus seats with synthetic leather panels and piping, drop-down tables and a double USB charging point at each pair. Power is from the DAF MX-11 engine rated at 408bhp driving through ZF’s EcoLife automatic gearbox.
Says Anderson Travel Managing Director Mark Anderson (pictured, right): “The specification of these new coaches is perfect for a variety of applications, from holidays and day tours through to airport movements and private hire. We hope that our passengers experience many happy miles aboard them.”
Entertainment comes from a Bosch combined DAB radio, CD player and PA unit coupled to an Actia DVD player with twin monitors.
Irizar’s i6S has a Hispacold climate control system that incorporates the Eco3 air purification unit. The latter produces ions and ozone in the correct proportions to disinfect the air circulating within the cabin. Additionally, it removes odours and raises oxygen levels, which Irizar says reduces the risk of driver fatigue. The Eco3 unit is in operation whenever the coach’s saloon cooling or heating system is active.
The Irizar integrals are expected to remain part of the Anderson Travel fleet for five years. They have replaced three older coaches from a different manufacturer and will be maintained in house.
