Barnes’ high-spec 9700 is complemented by a 72-seat B8R-based SB3

Swindon-based Barnes Coaches has returned to Volvo Bus (02476 210250) for a two new additions: A B11R-based 9700 integral, and a B8R with high-capacity Sunsundegui SB3 bodywork.

The tri-axle 9700 seats 49/51. It is a repeat order based on good experience of and positive feedback on an earlier example, says Director Matt Barnes.

“The operational performance seen by our drivers over the last year meant that we had no hesitation when we needed to expand.

“The B8R SB3 was a recommendation by our Volvo Bus and Coach Sales Manager Sam Prothero. We required a high-capacity vehicle that we could use for our school contracts and the 72-seater is a great fit.

“It offers us excellent economy and performance.”
