Coastal Coaches of Warton has added its first double-decker buses in the form of a pair of Alexander Dennis Enviro400 models, supplied by Chartwell Bus Sales.
The procurement is described as a significant development for the Lancashire operator and extends its offering into the high-capacity field. Each of the buses seats 85 and has USB charging points and alloy wheels as part of the builder’s retail specification for the type.
In keeping with tradition at Coastal Coaches, the Enviro400 pair have been named Lady Ena and Sir Clem after Director Bill Holder’s mother-in-law and father-in-law.
Speaking about the delivery, Mr Holder says: “The Alexander Dennis Enviro400 is a tried and tested product with excellent aftersales support.
“With 85 belted seats and a coach-like interior, these vehicles are a perfect fit for our high-capacity school travel requirements. Both have been well received by our customers as they offer value for money and comfort.
“Where once two vehicles were required for large groups, now one can accommodate them.”
Chartwell Bus Sales has worked with Alexander Dennis and predecessors since 2003. It has sold over 60 new vehicles from the manufacturer since then, notes Managing Director Steve Swain.
