Kent operator Crosskeys Coaches has taken delivery of a third Alexander Dennis Enviro400 double-decker, supplied new by the manufacturer.
The latest arrival has 85 seats with three-point belts and room for one wheelchair user. It joins one purchased new two years ago and another bought second-hand.
All three will be occupied on private hire and home-to-school work, while this summer will also see them utilised on free Reach the Beach service 51 in Folkestone. It runs between the town’s railway stations and the seaside during school holidays and is provided in partnership with Kent County Council using Bus Service Improvement Plan funding.
Crosskeys Coaches Managing Director Alan Johnson says that the two earlier Enviro400 buses have proved versatile, “allowing us to accommodate large groups easily while keeping our costs to a minimum thanks to their reliable design and great fuel economy.”
Regional Sales Manager Mark Taylor handled the latest order for Alexander Dennis. He adds: “We are delighted to have been chosen by Alan and his team at Crosskeys Coaches for this investment in another high-capacity bus.
“Its use on the beach service in Folkestone will be a great advert for modern and sustainable transport for the community as members enjoy their summer.”
