The London Borough of Havering has taken delivery of four new vehicles from Alexander Dennis in three Enviro200 buses and a Plaxton Leopard-bodied Volvo B8R coach. They have been funded by Mistral Group under a rental package.
Of the Enviro200s, two are 8.9m examples and one is 10.8m. The Leopard is a 72-seater. They join a batch of the same models delivered in 2022. All of the London Borough of Havering’s fleet run on gas-to-liquid fuel. Being virtually free of impurities makes it less harmful to the environment and allows engines to run more smoothly and quietly.
Speaking about the most recent delivery, Transport Contracts Manager Ian Dunsdon says: “This latest investment continues our fleet renewal and adds another four vehicles with a great combination of accessibility, passenger capacity and low emissions. In particular, our first 72-seat Plaxton Leopard will open new markets as we will be able to accommodate larger groups.”
Alexander Dennis Regional Sales Manager Mark Taylor notes that the combination of the OEM’s products with Mistral’s rental offer has created “a very flexible solution” for the customer, and that it has led to the repeat order.
Adds Mistral Group National Retail Sales Manager Freddie Fuller: “It is great to see the London Borough of Havering looking to expand its fleet with more quality Alexander Dennis and Plaxton products.
“These four vehicles are ideally suited to the council’s operational requirements, helping to achieve its environmental targets as well as providing accessible transport solutions for all, while maintaining a high passenger capacity. Mistral is delighted to have been chosen to provide a flexible rental solution that has been designed to meet the needs of the council.”
