Whites Coaches has taken delivery of its first double-deck vehicle in an Enviro400, supplied by Alexander Dennis.
It is an 11.5m example that has 85 Lazzerini Practico seats in Camira Vita synthetic leather and with diamond stitching. Three-point belts are fitted throughout along with USB charging points.
Other specification elements are a radio and public address system, a tachograph, Hanover destination displays, and Centrad CCTV. Whites has specified tinted glass and the St Albans operator’s standard graphite grey paint finish to match its coach and minicoach fleet, with the bus joining for private hire work that requires higher capacity.
Managing Director Greg White (pictured, right) notes that the business “is always looking for something a bit different” and that the high capacity of the Enviro400 will “further complement what we can offer our clients.”
He believes that a niche exists for a high-specification bus for private hire and that the bus represents “a very stylish and cost-effective way for us to dip our toe in the water.” An 11.5m length makes it useful for corporate shuttles and dinner transport in London, particularly when coupled to the usual Whites refinements.
“Dealing with the team at Alexander Dennis has been extremely simple throughout, and we very much look forward to seeing the Enviro400 in action,” continues Mr White.
Regional Sales Manager Mark Taylor (pictured, left) has thanked Whites Coaches for its business, with the Enviro400 sale representing a conquest sale for the manufacturer.
“We are seeing more top-tier coach operators come to Alexander Dennis for reliable, premium and British-built vehicles for high-capacity work, and we are very proud that we can now count Whites Coaches among them,” he says.
“A big thank you to the team for choosing Alexander Dennis to supply this beautiful vehicle.”
