Faresaver Buses of Chippenham has taken delivery of its first new double-deckers in the form of two Alexander Dennis Enviro400 models. Another pair will follow in late-2025.
All four are to be identical at 10.9m in length. Alexander Dennis SmartPack efficiency technology is used to minimise fuel consumption, with Low Emission Bus certification from Zemo Partnership meaning that the operator benefits from enhanced BSOG payments.
77 Lazzerini Practico seats are fitted along with USB-A and USB-C charging points. Wood-effect flooring from Altro is complemented by destination display equipment and internal monitors from Hanover Displays and an Ardent induction hearing loop system.
Faresaver Buses Managing Director Justin Pickford says: “As we continue to invest in our modern fleet to further enhance the travelling experience for our passengers, we are proud to have bought brand-new double-deck buses for the first time.
“The Alexander Dennis Enviro400 offers us a great vehicle that combines plenty of comfortable seats with the highest standards of accessibility and an economical driveline that further cuts our operating costs with enhanced BSOG eligibility.”
Alexander Dennis Regional Sales Manager Mark Taylor has welcomed the business, saying that it “is a great example of investment by a respected family business providing quality journeys for its customers.”
He continues: “Alexander Dennis is honoured to have been chosen as the supplier with two of our Enviro400s already in service and another two due to follow. It has been a pleasure to work with Justin and the Faresaver Buses team, and we look forward to continuing the relationship.”
