The successful introduction of a high specification Alexander Dennis Enviro400 has led Tunbridge Wells-based Hams Travel to buy another.

Says MD Paul Ham: “It has real street presence and is ideal for a whole raft of jobs, ranging from private hire to contract work, day trips and special events such as weddings.

“It definitely endorses the growing trend towards premium vehicles and the increased expectations of today’s passengers.”

Like its forerunner, the new 11.5m 85-seat double-deck has LED interior lighting, sophisticated CCTV, DVD, PA and radio systems, under-seat lighting, seatbelts and wood-effect flooring.

Hams Travel is one of a number of operators – including Go Goodwins, Swans, Westway, Tappins and Newbury & District – to go down a similar route for hi-spec high-capacity Enviro400s for private hire work.

Adds Mr Ham: “Our aim is to give passengers the best possible experience and the Enviro400 provides exactly that, combining a real quality finish with high capacity, factors that maximise opportunities for both operators and clients. It also projects the right image of our company, which is another important factor when it comes to winning repeat and new business.”

Mark Taylor, ADL’s Regional Retail Sales Manager for London and the South East says: “The Enviro400 is class-leading in terms of style, capacity and comfort. It simply raises the bar and in the process paves the way for new business.

“The range of options we can offer on the Enviro400 also enables operators to customise vehicles to their wants and needs.

“These include high back leather seats, wood effect flooring, tinted windows, customised paint schemes and vinyls, modern CCTV and communications systems, low bridge warning detection, digital tachographs and satellite navigation, as well as low carbon certification.”
