iQ Coaches of Yardley in Birmingham has taken delivery of its first new coach in the form of a Yutong GT12, supplied by Pelican Bus and Coach.
It has 53 seats with blue inserts and a centre sunken toilet. PSVAR compliance has been specified, and the vehicle has been finished in iQ Coaches’ metallic grey livery with reflective vinyls.
A cherished registration mark completes the external appearance, while for the handover at Pelican’s Castleford showroom and PDI centre the coach was affixed with a celebratory bow around the lower windscreen area.
The operator has also published a video of the vehicle and the collection process on its Facebook page. Power is from the customary DAF MX-11 engine developing 450bhp coupled to a ZF EcoLife automatic gearbox.
Speaking about the purchase, Pelican UK Coach and Truck Sales Manager Simon Collins says: “Pelican is very grateful that iQ Coaches has chosen Yutong for its first new coach. The GT12 will be a great addition to the fleet and will prove very popular with the customer base.
“The standard specification and backup offered by Pelican was the deciding factor. iQ knows that the vehicle will be reliable, with great parts backup and service to match.”
