Mario Coaches of Preston has introduced a pair of Irizar i6S Efficient integrals to its fleet, supplied by Irizar UK.
They are 12.9m, two-axle 57-seaters that are PSVAR compliant with the fitment of a Masats KS7 lift in the luggage area and Hanover destination display equipment.
Debuting on the integral coaches is a new livery produced by the Irizar design team. It is complemented by dark-tint privacy glazing. The operator has already placed a repeat order with the manufacturer for 2026 delivery.
Managing Director Nasir Zaman notes how Mario Coaches has been operating since 2015 and that good experience with DAF-based drivelines in previous vehicles is a contributor to the Lancashire business’s decision to order the Irizar integral product.
“I decided to go towards Irizar because the sales team delivered according to my needs and were always willing to meet my extra requirements and personal colour preferences, offering a high degree of adaptability,” he explains.
“The vehicle itself offers high-capacity seating of up to 57 and comes with all the things we need. Customer feedback has been tremendous and everyone loves the colour theme and plush curtained seats with sufficient legroom.”
A centre sunken toilet is part of the specification, which Mr Zaman adds is easy to maintain. Above that sits a small servery from AD Coach Systems. An on-board vacuum is included along with USB charging points and drop-down tables, magazine nets and multi-position footrests.
Mr Zaman observes that the aftersales support package provided by Irizar UK is a further boon in the purchase of integral coaches. The dealership’s mobile technicians and the DAF breakdown network are beneficial, while the iService portal is also appreciated.
The latter prevents delays in identifying parts, with Mario Coaches’ mechanics having been trained in using the service to reduce the time required in sourcing items.
