One of Whitelaws’ two new 9700s honours Mike Ball, formerly of Volvo

Scottish operator Whitelaws Coaches of Stonehouse has taken delivery of two B11Rs with 9700 bodywork, supplied by Volvo Bus (02476 210250).

One of the new coaches has been named in honour of Mike Ball, former MD of Volvo Bus UK and Ireland and who passed away in November 2016. He was a true friend of the operator, says MD Sandra Whitelaw.

“In addition to being a lovely gentleman, Mike was also a very good businessman and always had his customers at the heart of everything he did.

“As our family business has had such a long association with Mike and Volvo Bus, when we bought these two new 9700s we decided to name one after him as a permanent memorial.”
