Views of stakeholders in Gateshead, Newcastle-upon-Tyne and North Tyneside are being solicited as how a Clean Air Zone could work in the region is explored.
It has been suggested that even the highest level of CAZ would not mitigate pollution. Media reports say that non-compliant PCVs could be charged £50 per day for access.
