Westway Community Transport mobilised to help victims of the fire

London community transport operator Westway CT (WCT) provided assistance to victims and the emergency services after the Grenfell Tower in June, making vehicles available and moving donated bedding, clothing and food to help homeless survivors.

WCT’s base is less than a mile from Grenfell Tower and it ensured that all regular operations continued on the day of the fire, in which two of its staff lost their home.

The charity is also committed to helping the community rebuild in the months after the disaster, says Director Andrew Kelly.

“I am proud to be associated with such a caring group of people, who have stepped up to the challenge and done all they can to support their colleagues, friends and neighbours.”

WCT has also donated £500 towards the cost of transport to an initiative that will support children affected by the fire during the summer.
