21st Century has won a contract to maintain passenger displays for Transport for West Midlands.

The two-year deal, with a one-year extension option, covers maintenance of 600 displays, including kiosks, rugged information displays and stretched displays at bus stops across the region.

The contract will be delivered by 21st Century’s centralised service team

The contract will be delivered by 21st Century’s centralised service team operating from the firm’s new Ashby-de-la-Zouch head office.

21st Century has already conducted a full engineering audit of all the displays.  Engineers will visit each one requiring maintenance or repairs to ensure they are in good working order.

The displays will then be enrolled into a service plan which includes scheduled preventative maintenance and rapid response to reported faults, carried out by dedicated 21st Century engineers appointed to TfWM PTE.

Russ Singleton, 21st Century’s Chief Executive, says:  “We are delighted that TfWM has chosen 21st Century to provide service, support, and upgrade of its in-shelter passenger information systems across the TfWM region.

“As designers and manufacturers of the core technologies, including the screens and software, we are well positioned to deliver a fast, efficient and high-quality service.”

Gary Leek, Principle Information Integrity Officer for Transport for West Midlands says: "We were impressed by the attention to detail that 21stCentury applied during an audit of our display screen estate.

“We are very much looking forward to building on the existing relationship with 21stCentury as one of our trusted technology and service partners as we move towards Mobility as a Service (MaaS) public transport provision."

21st Century is a specialist provider of tailored solutions to the transport community, solving complex operational requirements both on and off the vehicle.

Fleet solutions include video surveillance to improve passenger and driver safety, vehicle and driver performance monitoring and automatic passenger counting.

Passenger information solutions include the necessary hardware and software for electronic passenger information systems, off-vehicle smart ticketing and way-finding.
