Dealership Pelican Bus and Coach says that the new Transport for London (TfL)-specification Yutong 10.8m full electric bus, the E10, is almost complete, and is poised to be shipped to the UK

The E10 is fully zero-emission, thanks to its electric heating system.

It uses the same single electric motor drivetrain as a further 45,000 Yutong electric buses already in service around the world in many different operating conditions and topography, including a route up to Everest base camp.

The E10 follows Pelican’s highly successful demonstration of the E12, which shares the same driveline.

Since the 1 February, this vehicle has covered 18,000km with zero mechanical or electrical failures and an average energy consumption of less than 1.1Kwh/km whilst being used by many different drivers, operators and routes.

The first E10 demonstrators will be in the UK in January 2018 – with a yet to be revealed operator – and full production will be available for April delivery.
