Latest step on road to making all O-Licence transactions digital by April 2019

Verify makes O-Licence application completely paperless

The Government’s ‘Verify’ identity assurance system is poised to go live on O-Licensing.

It will allow the O-Licence application process to be completely paperless.

It is also the first time that Verify will be used to verify identity for the purpose of making legal declarations, in this case the undertakings and transport manager declaration.

The ‘print and sign’ option will remain available for some time, and operators do not have to use the online system, although the Office of the Traffic Commissioner (OTC) is aiming to phase out paper transactions by April 2019.

Directors and transport managers wanting to use Verify will have to register with the system, including the provision of some financial background information.

A digital facility to perform O-Licence continuations is expected to go live in the next few weeks.
