A successful reunion

Moving away from their traditional hotel in Harrogate, drivers from Wallace Arnold took over a hotel in Scarborough for their annual reunion over a weekend in December.

The Cumberland Hotel, part of the Leisureplex group, offered a fabulous welcome and accommodation for the weekend visit of almost 100 guests. For the first time, entertainment was included every night, which went down very well – and the cheaper bar prices were even more popular.

Ex-employees from the Leeds, Devon and Croydon company travelled from as far away as Ohio to meet friends who they had worked with for, in some cases, nearly 50 years, and to recall what they see as the halcyon days of coach travel.

Next year’s event is already being planned, with the hope that the weather will be as kind as this year’s, as Scarborough missed most of the snow others had to endure.
