Alexander Dennis supported several Remembrance Day events this year.

The 1929 Dennis ES at Accrington’s Remembrance Day event

The company helped the Buckland Omnibus Co. in ensuring Britain’s oldest regularly working bus appeared in its original home of Accrington. The 1929 Dennis ES (pictured) joined in the town’s Remembrance Day parade to honour the Accrington Pals, the 11th (Service) Battalion of the East Lancashire Regiment, who sustained severe losses during the Battle of the Somme in 1916.

Employees at the company’s Guildford site, who raised £250 for the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association, brought a preserved 1914 Dennis fire engine from the firm’s collection to the Remembrance Day ceremony at Jacobs Wells, a nearby village.
