Arriva provided a “Friendship Bus” to carry participants in Inspired Friendships Kent’s community event at Chatham Town Football Club on Monday.
The operator transported participants aged between 59 and 94 to the ground to take part in a behind-the-scenes tour and have chance for a kickabout on the pitch.
Inspired Friendships Kent was created by retirement village chain Inspired Villages to help prevent its residents from feeling isolated by putting on social events.
Christian Obray, Regional Marketing Manager for Arriva UK Bus, says: “As always, Arriva is excited to bring people together. Our core value is connecting communities, and days like today are a perfect example of just that.”
Wendy Pfeiffer, Friendship Manager for Inspired Villages, adds: “The Friendship Bus, in partnership with Arriva, is always a highly anticipated activity, and today was no exception. Thanks to Arriva and Chatham Town FC, we were delighted to be given the opportunity for a glimpse into the world of football, a unique experience for many.
“However, this event was more than just about football; it was about nurturing connections and forging enduring memories within our community”
