Minicoach and minibus segment set for a new challenger, including with top-spec High Deck Sprinter
Minicoach and minibus bodybuilder and converter Auto Cuby made its UK show debut at CBUK, and the Polish company expects to mount a challenge here after appointing a dealer.
Attracting much attention from visitors was the Tourist Line High Deck. Coachbuilt on a 5.5t GVW Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, the body is raised by around a foot to create luggage space below, and besides a large boot, storage is in side lockers and above the chassis rails.
The show High Deck, a left-hand drive model, also includes a very high-specification interior with 16 orange and black leather seats, tables, USB and two-pin chargers and a glazed roof that extends into the cove panels.
“We offer the Tourist Line in High Deck or standard layout and all are built to the customer’s requirements,” says Customer Service Manager Tymoteusz Pralat, who adds that Auto Cuby believes that the High Deck will be of particular interest to UK operators.
Among the other vehicles on Auto Cuby’s stand was a City Line low-entry conversion with space for one wheelchair user, also on a Sprinter chassis.
It includes wood-effect flooring, high-backed seats and air-conditioning, and the manufacturer claims that with 16 seated passengers, a further 12 standees can also be carried.
