Berrys Coaches of Taunton is to increase its commitment to FlixBus scheduled services via the net introduction of two additional vehicles to that work.
The employee-owned business will take delivery of four Yutong GT12 models, two of which will replace existing vehicles on FlixBus duties. The net increase will add more services to routes between Taunton, Bristol, Birmingham, Sheffield, Leeds, and Newcastle.
Berrys began its collaboration with FlixBus in April 2022. Managing Director James Berry comments: “Our partnership with FlixBus is a proud part of our long history in the coach industry, and was a key strategic move for us to join the brand in its early stages in the UK.
“Our relationship has gone from strength to strength and we are excited to be expanding our fleet and routes as FlixBus continues on its journey to market leadership.”
Over 200 coaches in the travel technology brand’s green livery are in service in the UK, with the business saying it has carried millions of passengers here since launch. Vice-President of West Europe Andreas Schörling has thanked Berrys Coaches for its work so far and describes it as “a dedicated partner and top-quality operator for FlixBus since 2022.”
He continues: “When we launched, Berrys was one of the first operators to come on-board, and this latest growth highlights how dedicated we are to building relationships that last.”
On continuing network expansion by FlixBus, Mr Schörling adds how it proves “that coach is a compelling option and the smarter choice for travel in the UK. Passengers love FlixBus and we are growing our network to meet that demand.”
In 2025, Guild of British Coach Operators member Berrys became one of several coach and bus businesses that have made the move into employee ownership. That recognised the contribution of employees while also securing the company’s future, it said at the time.
