Daniel Wallace’s 1998 novel Big Fish is about to undergo its latest incarnation at London’s The Other Palace.

Running from 7 November-31 December, Andrew Lippa and John August’s theatre debut of the novel will feature actor Kelsey Grammer, well known for his role as Dr Frasier in both Cheers and Frasier.

Centred on a young man, William Bloom, and his father Edward, the musical adaptation follows the story of the two men as Edward lies on his deathbed, and as William comes to realise that his father wasn’t the impulsive liar he believed him to be.

Big Fish officially opened on Broadway at the Neil Simon Theatre on 6 October 2013, running for 98 performances before closing on 29 December 2013.

Regional productions followed and the show eventually made its way to Europe in November 2016, when it premiered in Munich. The latest production of note was the Australian premiere of the show in January 2017.
