The order marks the second consecutive year the firm has chosen the i6S
City Circle (UK) has ordered 17 Scania Irizar i6S coaches.
The Hayes, Middlesex-based firm’s order for 2019 comprises 15 13.2-metre K 410 vehicles and two 10.8-metre K 360, all with Scania's fully-automated Opticruise gear selection system.
This is the sixth consecutive year City Circle (UK) has chosen the Scania/Irizar combination and takes the number of Scania Irizar coaches purchased by the company over that period to 99.
The 15 larger coaches feature 53 seats with leather and extra padded flaps. Passengers will also benefit from seat-back tables, magazine nets and footrests. There is a sunken toilet/washroom and a Frenzel kitchen located at the centre continental exit.
The two smaller coaches will have 36 recliners with half leather trim to the seats and fully-furnished seat back facilities. There is a rear floor mounted toilet/washroom, and an extensive servery at the rear of the coach with built-in units for fridges and drinks facilities
All 17 coaches will have on-board wi-fi, CCTV system and USB charging points to all passenger seats.
The coaches will also have the colour plus dash feature offering the driver instant performance information, which is linked to the fleet management information sent direct to the office which helps ensure vehicle efficiency can be maximised over the long term.
