Dechoker is a compact, hand-held device that can be issued to drivers to use if a passenger starts to choke. It is available in separate versions for adults and for children and it requires neither batteries nor charging.
It is suitable for use by a first aider and it removes the airway obstruction via suction.
The manufacturer points out that when a person’s airway is blocked, they are likely to become unconscious within five minutes, and brain dead after a further five minutes.
