Gavin Booth, Bus Users UK's Director for Scotland, is to retire at the end of March.
Gavin has enjoyed a long career in the industry, working for the Scottish Bus Group before becoming a freelance transport consultant, journalist and author.
In the 1990s he joined Dr Caroline Cahm, founder of the National Federation of Bus Users, now Bus Users UK. Gavin succeeded Caroline as Chair of the organisation, and after stepping down from the role, went on to establish Bus Users in Scotland in 2013.
Claire Walters, Chief Executive of Bus Users UK, says: “Under Gavin’s leadership, our work in Scotland has expanded, forging close links with operators, transport groups, the Traffic Commissioner and Transport Scotland to improve services for passengers. We wish Gavin the very best of luck in the future.”
Gavin plans to focus on a number of book-writing projects.
