Two industry experts have united to form Woods Campbell Transport Consultancy, whose services will include support for franchising and tender bids and financial and strategic advice.
Richard Woods and Iain Campbell will head a core team of eight, which will also call on a network of transport professional contractors.
Mr Woods has recently returned from Qatar, where he was Director of Qatari state-owned transport operator Mowsalatt. He was previously Chief Operating Officer at Transport2, a private equity-backed technology-enabled transport procurement business. His more than 30 years’ experience in the transport industry has included stints in senior roles at Arriva and Stagecoach.
Mr Campbell was Managing Director at MTL’s London bus division and, subsequently, Group Chief Financial Officer, before it was bought out by Arriva. A chartered accountant, corporate financier and lawyer, he has been heavily involved in bus and rail privatisation in the UK and he has also acted as consultant to numerous passenger transport companies in Europe and the Middle East.
The consultancy will advise on implementation support to passenger transport ground transport companies, network and infrastructure design, major event transport procurement and planning, mergers and acquisitions, financing and business review and turnaround.
While Woods Campbell expects much of its business to be in the Middle East, it says it will seek to partner with potential bidders for re-regulated bus services in the UK.
