Surrey-based operator Falcon Coaches has taken delivery of a further Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200 single-decker, adding to its 33 already owned examples.

The operator, which runs services in north east Surrey and south west London, also confirmed an order of six more vehicles of the type to be delivered over the next four months for three new routes due to be launched. It has received four similar buses in the past six months for use on the new 479 route between Epsom, Leatherhead and Guildford.

The 10.8m-long, 40-seat Euro VI-compliant vehicles use ADL’s SmartPack efficiency technology, which combines combines engine stop-start, e-cooling and auxiliary load management in a bid to reduce emissions and cost. The new vehicle was handed over at ADL’s facility in Farnborough.

Falcon Coaches Managing Director, Richard Telling, says: “Our bus fleet now totals 34 vehicles, all of which are Enviro200, making the type the cornerstone of our fully Euro VI-compliant fleet. The vehicles provide good kerb appeal and are environmentally friendly while also being cost-effective to operate. This together with the service and support we receive from Alexander Dennis makes the Enviro200 our vehicle of choice.

“It’s great to support a British manufacturer with a great British product to serve the needs to our customers in Surrey. This Enviro200 is another fantastic vehicle providing comfort for our customers and a great working environment for our drivers and engineers.

“It has been a particular pleasure to welcome this new bus in Farnborough, where the impressive new Alexander Dennis facility shows the manufacturer’s commitment to its customers.”

Alexander Dennis Regional Sales Manager, Mark Taylor, who handed over the bus, adds: “It’s a privilege to have again been chosen for this continued investment in the modern Falcon fleet, and I’m grateful for Richard’s continued support and confirmation of the next order. All of Falcon’s low-emission Enviro200 buses benefit from full aftermarket support by the AD24 team, many of whom are based locally in Surrey and know Falcon Coaches as one of the county’s premier bus companies.”
