First Bus has been shortlisted in the ‘Unsung Hero’ and ‘Best Use of Tech’ categories at the 2017 Employee Engagement Awards.
Anthony Green, Employee Director at First Essex, has been shortlisted for the ‘Unsung Hero’ award after he breathed new life and focus into the role.
Anthony, who is also a bus driver for the company, even set up his own blog to help keep his colleagues up-to-date.
Anthony says: “It’s a privilege to be part of the First Essex Board and act as a voice for all my colleagues.
“I’m really surprised but delighted to have been nominated for a national award.”
Meanwhile, a colleague app introduced at First Bus’s Aberdeen business, to improve communication particularly among drivers, has been shortlisted in the ‘Best Use of Tech’ category.
Managing Director of First Bus, Giles Fearnley, says: "I’m delighted that both Anthony and our Aberdeen App have been recognised.
“We’re really focused at First Bus on improving engagement with our employees and I’m therefore very pleased we’re in the running for such high profile national awards.”
