East Beds Community Bus (EBCB) has become the first UK operator to take an Iveco Daily Line minibus.
The 16-seater will be used on EBCB’s Ivel Sprinter community bus service and EBCB says the Daily Line’s projected low total cost of ownership has allowed it to move away from second-hand vehicles.
Publicity Manager Peter Davies explains: “The Daily Line ticks all of the boxes for us, particularly with the ability to customise the configuration of the saloon to meet our requirements. It means that we can opt for a 16-seat layout to increase capacity while still ensuring plenty of space for shopping.
“What made things really easy was being able to order the entire minibus directly through our local Iveco Bus dealer. It saved an inordinate amount of time.”
Iveco says that the Daily Line is designed for intercity work. The minibus delivered to EBCB operates on hail-and-ride work within an approximately 20-mile radius of Biggleswade and Sandy, and as far afield as Bedford, Cambridge and St Neots.
