Former Wrightsure associate director, Mark Monk, has brought all of his 30 years' experience in the bus and coach sector over to specialist bus and coach insurance broker, Gauntlet, and is now driving Gauntlet's southern office, based in Essex.

The establishment of a southern office is a key milestone for Gauntlet, which celebrates its 25th anniversary in October 2019.

Roger Gaunt and Mark Monk

Mr Monk will work from a Gauntlet Hallmark office in Orsett, replicating the seamless broking service offered from Gauntlet's head office in Leeds.  It will also offer Gauntlet's southern-based clients a face-to-face service and tailored approach to their insurance requirements.

Gauntlet Hallmark will extend Gauntlet's 'more than a broker' approach and give Gauntlet deeper market penetration across the home counties and beyond, managed from an office also conveniently located for clients in London.

Mr Monk is already working with a number of Gauntlet's bus and coach operators and is actively targeting new business, to help grow Gauntlet's customer base further.  He is no stranger to working with numerous large accounts, having handled a portfolio of clients that comprised a book of business worth £1.3m.

Gauntlet Hallmark is wrestling down the price of insurance for bus and coach operators in the south of the country, providing them with attractive quotes and the experience that comes from a dynamic individual who has handled all key area of bus and coach insurance at an associate director level.

Mr Monk's excellent negotiation skills, plus his ability to present risks to insurers in a light that they find conducive, should result in favourable quotations that will save bus and coach operators considerable sums and equip them with relevant cover.

Roger Gaunt, managing director of Gauntlet Group says; "We are delighted to have Mark on board. He brings with him three decades of experience in the bus and coach sector, making our cumulative years in the industry a huge 55!  With our shared insight into the market and dedication to doing the best for all passenger transport clients, bus and coach operators could not be in better hands.

"We expect to see our southern-based bus and coach team grow to around three people by the end of 2019.  This will be a major development in our 25th anniversary year."

Mr Monk adds: "This is an exciting career move and I am relishing the responsibility of introducing Gauntlet's brand and impressive broking capacity to new bus and coach operators in the south.

"The move ticked all the boxes for me – dedication to customer service, commitment to bus and coach insurance excellence and a constant endeavour to secure the best premiums for operators.  These facets, along with the chance to become one of the guardians of Gauntlet's brand growth, together created an irresistible proposition."
