Go North West has launched a new Christmas appeal to help raise funds for Manchester children’s charity Wood Street Mission.
Wood Street Mission supports low-income families across Manchester and Salford. Go North West says the charity’s work is even more important this time of year, and has set a target of £1,500 for its festive appeal.
As part of the appeal the operator has put together a video of bus drivers, engineers, staff, passengers and volunteers from the Wood Street Mission reciting ‘A Visit from St Nicholas’ by Clement Clarke Moore. The footage hopes to celebrate the charity’s work within the community over the last 150 years.
Go North West Marketing and Communications Manager Matt Harrison says: “Wood Street Mission is a fantastic, hard-working charity close to all of our hearts in Manchester. The work they do in our community is a vital lifeline for the families and projects which they support.
“The charity relies on donations to support those families most in need of our help. With this year having been tougher than most for lots of reasons, we’re really proud to be supporting Wood Street through our Christmas appeal at such a crucial time, so please, jump on board and give what you can this Christmas.”
