The Philips GoSure ADR820 dash cam has recently been recommended in a test conducted by a motoring magazine.
Eight cameras were evaluated and judged on the clarity of footage and the level of detail they captured, including number plates, street signs and pedestrian movements in a variety of lighting conditions.
Each device was also rated for ease of use, looking at how straightforward it is to change settings and whether it is easy to install. Price was then taken into account.
The judges reported that the GoSure ADR820 is cheaper than many of its rivals, but that its video quality is excellent. Its f1.8 aperture works well in low light.
The GoSure ADR820 has a 140-degree recording ange, a Sony image sensor, a collision detecting g-sensor, Wi-Fi via the Philips GoSure app, driver fatigue warning, automatic recording and a 2.7in built-in LCD screen.
Says Richard Armstrong of Lumileds, global licensees of Philips Automotive Lighting products: “We all hope that our journeys are incident-free, but in the case of an accident, gathering evidence is vital. It benefits everyone to make doing that as simple as possible.”
