GreenRoad’s Drive app enables drivers to assess their own performance

Driver behaviour technology specialist GreenRoad has introduced its Drive app, which turns drivers’ smartphones into an intelligent, in-vehicle driving coach that offers insights and management tools.

The benefits for the operator are legion, says GreenRoad. They include motivating drivers to reduce risky behaviour; reducing collisions, wear and tear and insurance and fuel costs; and giving live tracking of your fleet, wherever it goes.

The Drive app is a hardware-free installation and it can be set up quickly. Available from the App Store or Google Play, it comes with a free 30-day trial and it automatically detects safety events and distracted driving.

When either happens, an immediate voice and visual alert to the driver is generated and the event is captured for further analysis after the trip is completed.

Drivers are provided with access to their trip history, event details and safety scores and team rank, while managers get intuitive tools to improve behaviour.
