It’s 50 years since the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust came into being.

Turning 50: Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust

To celebrate, the new Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron and an ambitious 10-year Masterplan will be revealed this month.

The redeveloped museum – set to open at Easter – will tell the story of iron as an industrial material, as well as the impact the new processes and innovations discovered at Coalbrookdale had on the rest of the world.

Alongside its anniversary events, the Trust is also looking to the future and will use the opening of the museum to launch its £15million Masterplan for the ongoing development and improvements of the site.
