Kathryn Pulham, a former Director of Pulhams Coaches, has been announced as the next President of the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT).
Ms Pulham will take over from current President Paul Lynch, who will complete his two-year term on 28 January 2026.
CPT Vice President Duncan Aspinall of Holmeswood Coaches had been due to assume the role but stepped aside due to family circumstances.
In 2008, Ms Pulham became a Director of Gloucestershire-based coach and bus operator Pulhams Coaches, a family-run firm established in 1880.
Following the Go-Ahead Group’s purchase of Pulhams in June 2023, she stayed on as a consultant and founded the organisation BluClarity, which supports operators with compliance and certification.
She is also Chair of the Women in Bus and Coach Subgroup and of the mental health charity Headspace.
CPT Chief Executive, Graham Vidler, says: “I am delighted that Kathryn has agreed to take on this role for the coming year. Kathryn has a wealth of experience in the industry that will be a valuable addition to our team at CPT, helping to shape the future of the industry for the benefit of members and passengers.”
Meanwhile, CPT thanked Mr Aspinall for his “excellent contribution as Vice President this year”.
Ms Pulham adds: “I am privileged to be appointed President of CPT and to represent such a vital and dynamic bus and coach industry.
“Having worked in the sector for many years, I’ve seen first-hand the difference reliable and well-delivered services make to people’s lives.
“I’m passionate about supporting the operators, drivers, and teams who keep people connected, and I look forward to working with CPT members to tackle key challenges, drive innovation, and shape a sustainable future for bus and coach travel across the UK.”
