McGill’s Group has announced Keith Rogers has been installed in the role of Head of Compliance and Business Development.
Mr Rogers’ 20 years’ experience in transport includes stints in senior roles at FirstGroup, Tower Transit, and Kelsian Group.
The Scottish independent operator notes his expertise in compliance, risk management, business development, bid and tender management, risk and safety frameworks, and stakeholder engagement.
His experience working closely with Transport for London and the Land Transport Authority in Singapore will also put Mr Rogers in good stead when it comes to boosting future development at McGill’s, the operator says.
His appointment follows growth in recent years for McGill’s which has included expansion of local services from Inverclyde and Glasgow to the rest of Scotland through acquisitions. Partnership with FlixBus has developed long-distance routes, while the creation of Loch Lomond Travel in February has created a holiday arm.
Mr Rogers says: “I am pleased to be joining McGill’s Group at such an exciting time for the company. There are real opportunities for growth across our bus network as well as through our partnership with FlixBus and our coach holiday division, Loch Lomond Travel. Franchising is also a very live issue for McGill’s to address and I look forward to leveraging my experience to address these opportunities and challenges on behalf of the group.”
The latest appointment comes five weeks after a leadership reshuffle in which Tony Williamson was installed as a CEO following the departure of Managing Director Alex Hornby.
Mr Williams says: “Keith’s depth of knowledge in compliance, safety, and risk management will be invaluable to McGill’s as we continue to grow and expand our operations.
“His track record in working with international stakeholders and delivering key strategic projects makes him an exceptional addition to our leadership team.”
