Arriva launched a demand-responsive service in Kent on 3 March. Branded ArrivaClick, it is operated with five high-specification Mercedes-Benz Sprinters converted and supplied by EVM.
The concept was developed in partnership with US-based transport solutions firm Via. The ArrivaClick app allows customers in and around Kent Science Part and Sittingbourne to request a minicoach from their phone, from a pick-up point at the time that they want and to a destination of their choosing.
They are given at ETA, proposed cost and can track the vehicle.
The minicoaches seat 12 passengers and have leather seats, tables, free wi-fi and charging points. Arriva says it is looking to expand the concept in the future.
