Newport Bus, the primary bus operator for the City of Newport, alongside its supplier Pennines Signs, has shown its solidarity with the people of Ukraine with a bus branded in the colours of the Ukrainian flag and bearing the message “Supporting the people of Ukraine”.
It comes as the operator, which has Newport City Council as its sole shareholder and supports grassroots and cultural events, highlights the diversity of its staff, with many originating from Eastern Europe.
Says Scott Pearson, Managing Director for Newport Transport: “Newport Transport is proud to launch its support and solidarity for the people of Ukraine.
“This bus will hopefully act as a reminder not only to do what we all can to help, but also the importance of democracy and peace.”
