Roy McCarthy Coaches of Macclesfield has taken delivery of a 72-seat Plaxton Leopard from Alexander Dennis (ADL).
The operator, which was established in 1971, now has nine Plaxton Leopard or Plaxton Panther coaches among its 11-strong fleet, all built on Volvo B8R chassis and bought in the last seven years.
The latest 12.8m-long coach is compliant with PSVAR, having a side-mounted lift. The seats are in a 3+2 arrangement and include some on quick-release to make room for wheelchairs.
Co-director Max McCarthy says: “As a small operator serving a wide range of clients, we really benefit from Plaxton’s ability to tailor vehicles to our requirements. This means that we can have a diverse fleet that allows us to respond to different operational needs without sacrificing the benefits of standardisation.
“This latest Plaxton Leopard is a great further example of this, giving us our highest seating capacity yet with room for 72 passengers.”
ADL Regional Sales Manager, Lee Salt, adds: “It’s a privilege to continue to work with the McCarthy family as their supplier of choice and I’m delighted to see yet another of our Plaxton coaches in the distinctive Roy McCarthy Coaches livery, which always heralds the arrival of a smart and well-kept coach.”
