Stephensons of Essex has deployed the TransMach ticketing system across its whole fleet of 150 vehicles.
TransMach’s TM500 ETM machine has been used by Stephensons’ NIBS Buses since 2023, but the extended partnership means it has been rolled out on all of the operator’s scheduled routes and private school services across Essex, Cambridgeshire and West Suffolk.
The Android-based hardware accompanies TransMach’s mobile app as well as cloud-based back-office system to allow operators to manage BODS compliance, revenue, schedule adherence, passenger loading and service performance.
Also featuring in the package is the bespoke online school portal ScholarSmart, which is designed to improve boarding speed and convenience and protect revenue.
Minesh Vandra, TransMach Director, says: “We are delighted to further strengthen our relationship with Stephensons of Essex, following the work we have done together to improve its operation in many areas with upgraded ETMs and cloud-based management support.
“Our mission is to ensure that operators are 100% confident in switching seamlessly to our industry-leading smart ticketing solution, which delivers value for money, that’s backed up by an expert and friendly technical support team.
“We recognise that customers benefit from our personal touch and bespoke client-led ticketing community approach to every project. We anticipate that TransMach will continue to attract operators of every size to consider our proven proposition.”
Stephensons Chairman Bill Hiron adds: “It’s been a pleasure to work with the team at TransMach to roll out the TM500 machines across our fleet. They have gone out of their way to accommodate our specific requirements.
“TransMach also appreciates that Stephensons doesn’t have a team of technical specialists to implement new systems or solve any teething problems that arise. The implementation has been stress-free and our drivers have also adapted to the new ETM quickly.”
